Mere yaar ki shaadi hai

Arumoy is getting married. Arumoy, who?? Well, my classmate at my college, someone with whom I spent the last 3-4 PLs before the semester exams in his hostel room. We were supposed to be studying together, and we did that. Besides, we also played Age of Empires, discussed cracking root passwords, spoofing email, had mock interviews for placements, made Winamp playlists... and the list goes on. Most importantly, he was the person who had put in his all at stake for me, his reputation, his friends, etc. when I was contesting for becoming the General Secretary (GS) of the college. Ask him, anytime, about me and a toss of a coin, and notice his reaction :) Now, this post is not about how I am going to miss him, etc. Rather, this is about what is so special about him that I stop my GRE, PhD university application process midway and drop by at his wedding, even just for a day. I am a poster boy!!

I am a poster boy!! The next time Accenture India visits your campus for recruitment, you will see one slide in the PPT which will be the same as the one you see above. As you can see, the handsome dashing dude is me, and yes, believe me, the quote is also my own. I am, in fact, one among the four people chosen across India, one representative of each end of the map. There is one guy from NIT Surathkal, one lady from BIT Mesra, one dude from IIT Roorkee, and finally me, from NIT Surat. I represent the West... now, didn't I tell you that I am a true western dude?? Ok, ok... I know that was a long braggadocio. But couldn't help it. After all, it is not everyday that you get a chance to brag like that... kya karoon, control nahi hota . Never mind, if you get to meet me, you will be the one gushing about me. Hee-hee, I know what comments are coming. About the quote: well, although that might seem like a big ad campaign, trust me it is true. Right now, I know a thousand ways how not...

The curse is lifted

It seems like a fairytale. And the worst part is, I cannot fully feel that it is over now. Yes, the AGRE is over and well, it went better than I expected it to be. It feels nice to be back. And the best part is that I have two things to tell you: one a bit of my gyaan and the other is well, just somthing which you might like. I have been pondering over something while I was not blogging, and that is, what is it exactly which I miss. To see as a pure machine, I can see that I saved myself some very important time, and also some keystrokes. But I am human, and so I am prepared to spend much time and energy on keystrokes just to blog... because at the end of the day it is my diary. When I ponder over things, I sometimes come to conclusions. And I want to record these thoughts here... you just never know when you think of what. Also, as Abhinav puts it here , you cannot make the baby pee just by asking it to. It just happens, and I am told that when a baby wants to pee, you better let it d...
